THIẾU NAM TROOP 105 Spring 2019 Camp Fiesta Island General Information and Regulations: Time - 8AM Sat. 5/18 to 11AM Sun. 5/19 Location - Fiesta Island Camp 1750 Fiesta Island Road, San Diego, CA 92109, in Mission Bay Park It takes approximately 1 hour 20 min to drive from Irvine to camp Cost - Camp fee and food fee will be covered by unit treasury Permission Slip - Due 4/28/2019 BSA Health and Safety A & B Forms - Updated forms should be completed by 5/5/2019 Camp sites: Least Term (17-22) & Sting Ray (23) Parking/Drop Off: NO PARKING is allowed in campsites or fire lanes. (Any place a vehicle can be driven is considered a fire lane) LOADING /UNLOADING: No cars may enter campsites for quick loading/unloading. Park your car and unload your stuff at the parking lot. IMPORTANT: Scouts and their equipment should be dropped off near the restroom in the parking lot IMPORTANT: DO NOT DROP OFF AT CAMPSITE. ONLY PARKING LOT In and Out Time: You must report to the leaders in charge if you come/leave before or after the scheduled time. TMP: Saturday 5/18 Time. Groups are responsible for the cleanliness of the restrooms, showers, and common areas. Ranger will only provide trash bags for restrooms. Bring your own trash bag. Electricity and Cell Phone: No electricity is available at campsites. AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon work. NO NO NO NO: No Pets are allowed. Camp Guide - Fiesta Island 2019

For our upcoming meeting, we will be preparing for our Fiesta Island camp from May 18-19. 

Permission slips should have been submitted by now, but if not, please have all scouts complete it as soon as possible.  The health form for paddleboarding/kayaking can be found at this link: https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/healthsafety/pdf/680-001_ab.pdf.  ​All scouts need to complete the health form and turn it in to the leaders at our meeting this Sunday, May 5.​

There will be a parent meeting from 9:45 to 10:15 regarding the camp, so please let your parents know about this.  It is the scout's responsibility to inform his parents about the meeting.

We will be holding our final equipment check before camp.  Please make sure that your patrol members bring their equipment and email in if there are any missing items.

Thieu Nam camp will be on May 18-19 at Fiesta Island, as mentioned before. The permission slip is available online so please have your parents submit the permission slips as soon as possible. We will be repainting our gay doi with the help of the parents. Please make sure that every scout brings their staff in order to participate in this activity.​

ASPLs, Kevin and Ian, will run the TMP.

Just a reminder, we will not be having a meeting this Sunday, so enjoy your Easter weekend off! Our Thieu Nam camp will be on May 18-19 at Fiesta Island, as mentioned before. This week, we will continue to focus on advancements while adding a relay race involving scout skills and physical fitness.  There is also a swimming test available this upcoming weekend for advancements, if not already completed.  Please email the leaders for more information. Swimming test is available on Sunday, 4/14/2019 at Truong Toan club house, please see TMP on TS website.

If you have receipts from last camp's meals, please bring them to turn in to the leaders at the upcoming meeting.  Equipment should be checked and if there are any missing items from your patrol box, you need to email the leaders for replacements.

The Fiesta Island camp permission slip is now available online, so please ask your parents to submit it as soon as possible.

Scoutmaster Conference (SMC) and Board of Review (BOR)

1. The BOR will be conducted on the second Sunday of each month.  The cut-off for request submission is Monday night before the following Sunday BOR.  This give the BOR time to prepare.
2. Scout must include scout name, rank, unit, and Scoutmaster name
3. BOR for Tenderfoot, 1st and 1nd Class requires an essay from the scout
4. BOR for Star and Life requires another leader for another unit to sit in the review
5. No SMC on the same day as BOR
